With the injury to Marquise Hollywood Brown, the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver rooms are wide open. The young receiver bench will need to pull up their socks to have a crack at the Lombardi Trophy once again. However, the fans think they might need some outside help.
Hollywood Brown suffered a sternoclavicular injury to his shoulder on Saturday during a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid downplayed the seriousness of the injury. Yet, recent update isn’t too good for the defending champions.
On Tuesday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that this injury might force Brown to miss more than a month. This would mean the Chiefs will be without him during their season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

“Chiefs WR Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources. Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night.”

This led the Chiefs' fanbase to worry about the core of the wideout bench and its bleak future as of now.
“Brutal hit to the young WR core to start the year.”
Many fans wanted the return of Juju Smith-Schuster to the roster.
“Juju back to KC?”
Some fans wanted the ones already on the bench to step up and grab this opportunity.
“Rashee Rice is back on the menu folks,” wrote one Chiefs fan.
“Worthy is going to have to step up but I think we will be fine,” wrote another fan.
Several fans, however, displayed their immense trust in their QB Patrick Mahomes despite this rough start.
“That's a bummer, still, Mahomes is Mahomes,” wrote a fan.
“Mahomes will still eat as usual. Heal up Hollywood,” wrote another fan.
The eventual return of Marquise Hollywood Brown
The 2019 NFL Draft first-round pick played a couple of seasons with the Ravens and Cardinals, before being signed by the Chiefs earlier this year. The Chiefs have him under contract for a year at $11 million.
As per the latest reports, the WR will not have to go for surgery. Still, he will have to miss the first two games of the season as per the return timeline. However, Marquise Hollywood Brown should be on the bench for the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
