The Kansas City Chiefs had the luxury of putting their feet up and resting the players during the Wild Card Round. As the No. 1 seed in the AFC, Andy Reid's team had the only bye week in the conference, and will also play all AFC playoff games at home.

Their journey starts on Saturday, when they'll play against the AFC South champions Houston Texans. Although the end of the season wasn't impressive for the Texans, they were able to put together an impressive victory in the first round against the Los Angeles Chargers, winning 32-12.

There's no easy game in the playoffs, especially in the Divisional Round, when the teams involved are usually the best in the league. But Nick Wright doesn't believe that this will be a close game: after their bye week in the Wild Card Round. On FS1's "First Things First", Wright called the Texans game "the final practice of the year" for Kansas City:

The two teams have already met in the playoffs during Patrick Mahomes' era in Kansas City, and the game was a memorable one. With Deshaun Watson as their quarterback, Houston opened a 24-0 advantage on the score during the first half. But the Chiefs orchestrated a furious comeback, turning the game around in the first half already and lately winning 51-31.

This was their first playoff step en route to Mahomes winning the first Super Bowl of his career. They're now aiming to become the first-ever team to win three straight Super Bowls in the history of the NFL.

When will Chiefs and Texans play? AFC Divisional Round details

The game between Houston and Kansas City will be the first of the weekend. The league has put both first seeds to play on Saturday due to the scheduling of their opponents.

The game will take place at Arrowhead Stadium at 4:30 p.m. ET. The winner will then play the winner of Sunday's game between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, the marquee matchup of the weekend, with QBs Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen as the two biggest favorites for the 2024 MVP award.
