Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker sent a message of support after Donald Trump was shot at in a rally. Trump survived with what appeared to be a minor injury on his right year, but it was a scary scene.

After Trump was shot, Butker took to social media to share a message of support and told people to pray for the United States.

"Pray for our country," Butker wrote.

It was a simple comment from Butker who was not the only kicker to discuss Trump getting shot. Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby called Trump the GOAT after being shot. New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner also heaped praise on Trump and endorsed him after being shot.

Trump was shot in the ear but survived the shooting, while the 20-year-old who shot him was killed by the Secret Service.

Harrison Butker responds to Serena Williams' jab

Harrison Butker has had an eventual offseason, as he made a comment saying a woman is a homemaker, which many people did not take kindly to.

At the ESPYs, Serena Williams took a jab at Butker saying everyone but him should enjoy women's sports. After Williams' comment, Butker issued a statement responding to it.

“I thought Mrs. Williams was a great host and applaud her for using her platform to express her beliefs on a variety of topics,” Butker said in the statement, via The Athletic.
“Sports are supposed to be the great unifier and at an event dedicated to celebrating a diverse group of men and women who have accomplished great feats, she used it as an opportunity to disinvite those with whom she disagrees with from supporting fellow athletes,” Butker’s statement said.

Butker is entering his eighth NFL season as he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft. Butker is entering the final year of his deal as he will make $3.945 million in 2024.

With the Chiefs, Butker has won three Super Bowls, and last season, he went 33-for-35 on field goals while going a perfect 38-for-38 on PATs.

Kansas City will open its 2024 NFL season at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept 5.
