Andy Reid and his Kansas City Chiefs finished the season with a 15-2 regular season record and earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Chiefs have won nine-straight AFC West titles, and have been Super Bowl contenders for the last several years, especially after the arrival of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls and will look to become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row. However, Reid made it clear that while the team is chasing greatness, they're handling it on a day-by-day approach.
Reid said (via Chiefs writer Nate Taylor):
"You don’t ever go there. You’re tunneled in. You’re trying to find another play that works. It’s a weird dynamic. You’re just ingrained in trying to communicate with players and trying to teach.”

Next up for the Kansas City Chiefs' quest to the Super Bowl is a home game against the Houston Texans. The Texans defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 at NRG Stadium last week.
The Chiefs will host the Texans on Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff time set at Arrowhead Stadium. This will be the second time this season that the Chiefs and Texans have played one another. The Chiefs previously defeated the Texans 27-19 on Dec. 21.
Andy Reid opens up on possibly losing both coordinators next season
Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo are attracting interest from other teams for potential head coaching opportunities. Both have been successful in their roles on the Chiefs the last few seasons.
Knowing there's a chance he could lose one or both coordinators, Andy Reid spoke about how deserving both are of head coaching opportunities.
"You could take all of the coordinators there and put them right in that mix for sure," Reid said. "Both of them are – offensive and defensive guys are phenomenal, (Assistant Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator Dave) Toub does a great job. I know the two names that normally come up are the offensive and defensive coordinators. Both of those two are – warrant that, yeah, for sure.
"You know this from what I’ve said before: I think both of them deserve an opportunity again to be head coaches. They’re obviously getting some play here, so other people recognize that, too. We’ll just see where it goes. I know they’re focused on taking care of business now here and then looking at these other things this week, and then that stops after this week.”
Nagy was interviewed for the New York Jets' vacant head coach position. Spagnuolo has been interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders' vacancies.
