After sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for three years, Jordan Love finally got the chance to be the starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers in 2023. He did start slow, but by the end of the season, everyone knew that the Packers had found their quarterback of the future.

Love was surrounded by young receivers like Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. The quarterback got the best out of them and helped the Packers win a playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Before Rodgers got traded to the New York Jets and Love got his opportunity, the Packers also traded away star receiver Davante Adams. While many think Adams would have helped the young quarterback, Chris Long, a two-time Super Bowl champion, recently said not having the veteran receiver on the team has helped Love. He said:

"What I will say is this is really nice for a young guy (Jordan Love) to walk into a room who's got loads of pressure on him and go through the process with four other guys that are dealing with the same thing.

"There is something nice about having veterans... But it's also really hard being a rookie and a high pick, or a guy has been waiting for years and they're handing the reins to and walking into a room where you got Davante Adams and you have to get him the ball and maybe he's frustrated if that process is a little bit slow...
"So, the point I'm making is, I think even letting Davante Adams walk was a good move."

Long is definitely right, as Adams could have been frustrated during a period like from Week 3-Week 8, where Love threw eight interceptions in five games. Since the team was full of receivers, the morale around the team was always high, and the Packers eventually bounced back to finish the season strong.

Adams has often been seen frustrated with how things have gone in Las Vegas over the past two seasons, and the story could have been similar in Green Bay last year. Fortunately for the Packers, they have built a team full of young players that is ready to compete.

After a successful first season as the Packers starting quarterback, Jordan Love was rewarded with a four-year, $220 million contract extension. The franchise has faith in him, and it's now time for the 25-year-old quarterback to have another big season.

The Packers finished 9-8 last season, and everyone expects them to be better this year. Love is surrounded by a plethora of talented players on offense, and he is projected to put up big numbers in this upcoming season. As a result, he will have a fair shot at being an MVP candidate since his team is capable of winning more than 11-12 games.

Last season, Jordan Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 17 games with a passer rating of 96.1. Similar stats could get him the MVP award if his team competes for the first seed in the NFC.
