Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a few years left in the NFL, as the 39-year old has alluded to retiring a few times in his career.

Rodgers is expected to be traded to the New York Jets this off-season and it's unclear how long he will play in the franchise.

While Rodgers has had one MVP in two of the last three seasons, he has regressed heavily this past season. He had a passer rating of over 111 in 2020 and 2021, and also threw over 4,000 yards and 37+ touchdowns in both seasons. This past season, he threw for less than 4,000 yards and had a passer rating by 91.1.

Radio talk-show host Colin Cowherd spoke on The Herd and talked about Mac Jones being on the trade market and compared him to a few veteran quarterbacks.

"I think people have swung so far the other way on Mac Jones. He now has incredible value on the market. He's not going to do anything off script. If you look at the history of this league. Lamar is hurt. Kyler Murray's hurt. Russell Wilson down. A lot of these move around, guys. Last year I thought Josh Allen regressed made more mistakes. Sitting and thrown from the pocket. Wins a lot of games in this league."

Cowherd then added that Aaron Rodgers hasn't regressed much like the other quarterbacks he mentioned, and that he's only regressed as a runner.

"Aaron Rodgers has been the MVP two times in the last three years. If you look at his rushing numbers, they've steadily gone down. Aaron. Now is strictly a pocket quarterback, maybe not Brady Pocket, but he's a pocket guy."

Rodgers has rushed for 195 total yards the last two seasons combined, which is down from previous years.

Cowherd then added that if he were the Indianapolis Colts, he would try to acquire Mac Jones instead of a guy like Will Levis.

"I don't know if Mac Jones if I'm the colts, I can get Mac Jones over Will Levis. I do it today. Totally stabilize the organization. Absolutely. Would do it today."

Both Mac Jones and Aaron Rodgers could be traded this off-season

Both Aaron Rodgers and Mac Jones are likely to be traded this off-season.

Rodgers' situation has been known for about a month as he announced the news on The Pat McAfee Show. He is likely going to be traded to the New York Jets as he commits to paying for them this upcoming season.

Jones' situation was confirmed this week.

Mike Floiro of ProFootballTalk confirmed the news this week that the Patriots have reached out to at least four teams regarding a trade around Jones.

The Patriots have been frustrated with how Jones handled things (attitude, on-field behavior) this past season and Bill Belichick could be ready to move on from him.
