Aaron Rodgers' time as a New York Jet will likely end in the offseason as the relationship between the quarterback and owner Woody Johnson has seemingly broken down.
The four-time MVP had stated that he wanted to play for the Jets in 2025. However, with that being improbable, it's unclear whether he'd return to the field or hang his cleats. If he decides to continue playing, he'll likely have to find a new team.
He'd want to play for a team in a position to compete for the Super Bowl, but not many contenders need a new quarterback. Given the limited options, it's hard to predict which team Rodgers would play for next season.
With joining a championship-caliber team presumably out of the question, Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd had an interesting suggestion. On Monday's episode of "The Herd", he claimed that the Las Vegas Raiders could be a potential landing spot for the 40-year-old quarterback:

"I think Aaron's got about a two-team market. I could see the Raiders cuz they won again today," Cowherd said. "I could see the Raiders, if they're like, 'We're not going to move up for Cam [Ward] or a Shedeur [Sanders]. We're just not going to move up.' I could see them going with like a Kirk Cousins or an Aaron Rodgers for a year. I really could, for one year."

Aaron Rodgers takes a shot at Jets owner
It's unclear whether Aaron Rodgers would be open to joining a team that's 4-12 heading into Week 18. However, he might be forced to consider it as he has seemingly resigned to the idea that returning to the Jets in 2025 is no longer an option.
On the Dec. 23 episode of "The Pat McAfee Show", the four-time MVP admitted that the team could move on from him in the offseason. As he was explaining the reality of his situation, he also took a shot at owner Woody Johnson. Rodgers said:
"I think there's a world where they just say, 'Hey, thank you, we're going to go in another direction' on Jan. 6. That's a possibility," Rodgers said. I think there's also a possibility we're going to wait and see who the new staff is... Being released would be a first; being released by a teenager, that would also be a first. So, hey, I'm open to everything and I find the comedy in all of it. If that happens, hey, it's a great story."

The last line referenced a report from The Athletic, which claimed that Johnson takes advice from his teenage sons, Brick and Jack, on how to run the Jets. Rodgers' shot at the team owner could show that his time in New York may be coming to an end soon.
