The Chicago Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus following their Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions and are now looking for the ideal candidate to lead the team in 2025. The team has been linked to several names, including Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who is reportedly at the top of the wishlist of every team eyeing a new head coach.

While he could be the perfect coach to unlock quarterback Caleb Williams' potential, analyst Colin Cowherd believes the Bears need a charismatic leader to flip the franchise's fortunes. He vouched for former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel to take over as the team's new head coach.

"The Bears are a fascinating topic. Total disarray as a franchise. To me, you need a culture changer. They're just running through coaches, and they're getting no bounce... Vrabel has the physical element which Dan Campbell and Harbaugh have. They're kind of physically intimidating. It's not the schematic geniuses. You gotta change the culture." - Colin Cowherd on The Colin Cowherd Podcast

Analyst John Middlekauff agreed with Cowherd and added that Vrabel would ensure the team isn't solely dependent on Williams to win them games next season.

"That franchise has a lot of issues. It's a team effort, and that's where Vrabel [will be like], 'I'm not as dependent on my quarterback. I'm going to build the team. I'm going to build the culture, the vision.' I would not be in the business of first-time head coaches. I think that's too risky, given their situation." - Middlekauff said.

Mike Vrabel to Bears? Former Titans HC is a man in demand

The Bears are reportedly interested in Mike Vrabel being the franchise's new head coach in 2025. However, they aren't the only team eyeing him.

According to NFL insider Jonathan Jones, the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets are also vying for his signature. He also revealed that Vrabel, who has been linked with lucrative college football head coaching gigs, is keen on returning to the NFL but will only join a team with stability at the top.

"Three open jobs -- Saints, Jets, Bears -- I believe all three want to interview Mike Vrabel. He wants another head (coach) job. Sources I've talked to strongly believe he's going to get one... I don't get the sense he would go to college, even if his alma mater, Ohio State, has an opening. I also believe Vrabel would prefer to go to a team with an established, veteran GM." - Jonathan Jones on NFL Today

The race is on for the former Titans head coach's signature and it remains to be seen which team can convince him to sign with them in the offseason.
