Lamar Jackson is once again fighting for the MVP award. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback had a fantastic regular season, but this time, he's been challenged by Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who's considered the favorite by the bookmakers.

Jackson, however, has already guaranteed a playoff spot for his team. The Ravens will hold the third seed in the conference if they win Saturday's game against the Cleveland Browns, but their recent defensive improvement has many fans excited about a deep playoff run.

However, one of the analysts who are not excited about this possibility is Colin Cowherd. While he doesn't take away Lamar's flowers, Cowherd explains why he has more confidence in other quarterbacks once the playoffs arrive - naming Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold as a better option in January:

This [Vikings] roster isn't great. There's no but. Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold. Look at the numbers. Who do you trust more in a playoff game? Are you sure it's Lamar? And I love Lamar.

What you're seeing is the Andrew Luck thing and they're asking him to make big boy throws. He leads the NFL 60 completions over 20 plus yards. Those are Brady and Mahomes throws.
He's the league's most efficient quarterback now and in the second half of the last seven games, 1000 yards and a passer rating of 114. Why is he not in the MVP discussion?

Darnold, who signed a one-year deal during the offseason, has emerged as one of the best quarterbacks of the season, leading the Vikings to a 14-2 record and needing just one win against the Detroit Lions to hold the first seed in the NFC.

What's Lamar Jackson's record in the playoffs?

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback has a fantastic 69-24 record in the regular season, but when the lights get brighter, his performance has gone down. He holds a 2-4 record in the playoffs; he made four postseason appearances, and on two of these occasions, the Ravens were one-and-done.

For a quarterback of his caliber, his numbers in January certainly feel disappointing. He has had two instances were Baltimore entered the AFC playoffs with the first seed, but they were not able to convert these opportunities into a Super Bowl berth.
