"Aaron's never had a ton of respect for coaches": Colin Cowherd takes shots at Aaron Rodgers after team records worse stats without Robert Saleh

When Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets before last season, many thought that the team would become Super Bowl contenders for the next few seasons. They've been anything but that for the last two seasons.

Rodgers tore his Achilles a few plays into the 2023 season and was sidelined all of last year. This year, returning from his injury, many expected the Jets to be a contender.

After a 2-3 start this season, the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh, seemingly blaming him for their woes. However, since he's been fired, the Jets have gone 1-4 and have played worse.

With Saleh getting fired, Fox analyst Colin Cowherd thinks Aaron Rodgers has "no respect" for NFL coaches. He pointed to how he treated Mike McCarthy in Green Bay and how he allegedly got Saleh fired on this morning's segment of "The Herd."

Cowherd said:

"The Jets are desperate for relevance. Aaron's never had a ton of respect for coaches. If he did, he wouldn't treat him the way he treated Mike McCarthy or Robert Saleh wouldn't have been fired. I don't think Aaron ever respected the organizational stability in Green Bay, because he inherited it like he did. All he knew was Green Bay, they're always stable."

In the five games with Saleh, the Jets' defense only allowed 17 points per game, allowed just six touchdowns, and were all-around a better unit. In the last five games, without Saleh, they've given up an average of 25.8 points per game, 15 touchdowns and only have one takeaway.

Aaron Rodgers speaks about the New York Jets' continued struggles

It's shocking to say the least to see the New York Jets at 3-7 through their first 10 games of the season. They're tied for second place with the New England Patriots in the weak AFC East division.

The Jets most recently suffered a 31-6 blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals yesterday. After the Jets' loss, Aaron Rodgers was asked about what was the cause of the Jets' struggles this season. Even he couldn't figure out why they're doing so poorly this season.

“I’m not sure," Rodgers said. "I don’t have a good answer for you, I’m sorry. Offensively, I feel like we had a good week of practice. We liked the plan. They played really well on defense, and we didn’t score seven in the red zone. In situational, we were really bad.”

While their season isn't officially over, the Jets are close to it. They will face the Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins before their season ends.

Do you think the Jets have any chance at all to go on a late-season improbable run?
