The New England Patriots are 3-13 in the regular season, with just one game left. When Robert Kraft fired Bill Belichick, who won six Super Bowls with the team, and elevated Jerod Mayo to interim head coach and then formally as the team coach, he had hoped that Mayo would revive the team's fortunes.
However, this outcome did not occur. Should the team win their last match against the Buffalo Bills, their record will stand at 4-13, identical to Belichick's 2023 record. Conversely, losing this game would result in a 3-14 record, a new record low.
But Patriots fans seem to have spotted a new ray of hope. Mike Vrabel, the Cleveland Browns's coaching and personnel consultant, is now available for hire as his contract with the team ended on Monday, per Adam Schefter. He had previously served as the Tennessee Titans's HC.

Patriots fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to support Vrabel to join their team as their coach. One fan asked him to "come home" to the Patriots since he had won all three of his Super Bowls as a player with the New England.
"Come back home Vrabel 🙏🏾"
"Come to patriots Mike"
Other fans also chimed in with their requests for Mike Vrabel to join the Patriots.
"FIRE MAYO, BRING IN VRABEL. PLEASE," one fan said.
"I'd like to see if the Patriots have some interest," another fan mused.
"PATRIOT," one fan said with a one-word plea.
"Bobby Kraft needs to be on the phone NOW," another fan urged.
Mike Vrabel allegedly has reciprocal feelings for New England Patriots
Recently, on Thursday, Boston Connor of the "Pat McAfee Show" claimed that the feeling between Patriots fans and Mike Vrabel was mutual and that he was interested in returning to New England as a coach this time.
"Word on the street is that Mike Vrabel is very interested in being the Head Coach of the New England Patriots.... Allegedly that is VERY real."
Earlier this month, there were also whispers that the New York Jets might hire Mike Vrabel. However, ESPN insider Rich Cimni clarified that Vrabel would only "consider" joining the New York team if he liked the GM the team hired after they fired Joe Douglas midseason.
For now, it's a wait-and-watch scenario. Once the teams enter the offseason, we will discover where Vrabel would land. Or like Bill Belichick, if he decides to take the college route.
