Veteran running back Austin Ekeler is moving on to the NFC Championship game with the Washington Commanders. After spending seven seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, this is the furthest the running back has made it in the postseason. The Commanders had a thrilling 45-31 win over the Detroit Lions on Saturday evening.
His wife, Melanie Ekeler, shared a recap of her NFC Divisional Round weekend with her 647,000 followers on Instagram. Ekeler, who is originally from Michigan, attended the big game with 30 family members along with the running back's family as well.
She captioned the Instagram reel by declaring that she was on "Cloud Nine" after such a big win. At the end of the video, she can be seen with her jaw dropped in shock that Washington pulled off the upset. She mentioned in the overlay in the reel that she was 'in shock' with the win.

Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler is heading to a conference championship game for the first time in his career. His first season with the Washington Commanders has been quite successful for the veteran running back. On Monday, he celebrated the big win over the weekend and expressed how 'proud' he was to get as far as they have. He asserted that they still have work to do.

Austin Ekeler had six rushes for 47 yards in Sunday's win at Detroit. The 2024 NFL season wasn't easy for Ekeler who suffered two concussions, one in Week 3 and an even more serious one in Week 12. He recovered from the injury and passed concussion protocols in time to play in the Week 18 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
