Washington Commanders rookie cornerback Mike Sainristil was named the "Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week" for the final week of the regular season. His fiancee, Seliana Carvalho, indicated that she thinks an even bigger honor is headed his way.
Carvalho reshared the post announcing his "Rookie of the Week" award and then added her own caption. She predicted that he will be named the "Defensive Rookie of the Year" at the conclusion of the season.

In another photo, Seliana Carvalho shared a glimpse at the decorations she had set up at their home to celebrate his big accomplishment.
The Washington Commanders cornerback was named the "Rookie of the Week" after he broke up three passes and had eight tackles in the Week 18 finale against the Dallas Cowboys. He was drafted in the second round and had been a valued slot corner before making the move to the outside earlier in the season.
The Washington Commanders won 12 games in a regular season for the first time in 30 years.
