LA Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp addressed his diminishing offensive production through prayer and meditation. The Super Bowl LVI MVP's role has shifted dramatically since his record-breaking 2021 season, particularly evident in the Rams' recent playoff victory.

Kupp, who led the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns during the 2021 season, has struggled to maintain that momentum. His 2024 campaign yielded just 710 receiving yards. Against Minnesota in the wild-card round, he managed just one 29-yard catch.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Kupp opened up about his limited role. His comments followed the Rams' 27-3 playoff victory, where his lone reception helped set up a crucial field goal.

"You pray a lot," Kupp said. "You do a lot of prayer and meditation. It's football in some respects. Statistically speaking, I've gone through similar things like this before. Back in 2019, I think I finished the last half of that season probably averaging less than 50 yards a game or something like that."

The veteran receiver's production has plummeted since his stellar 2021 season of 1,947 receiving yards. His season began promisingly with 14 catches for 110 yards in the opener. An ankle injury sidelined him for four games, and trade rumors swirled before the November deadline.

Despite the statistical downturn, Cooper Kupp maintains his focus on team contributions. His approach resonates with the LA Rams' coaching staff and younger players as they prepare for Sunday's divisional round at Philadelphia.

"He's very much involved in this offense, even if the stats sheet doesn't show it right now," offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said on Monday.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford echoed this sentiment. He recalled a missed opportunity from their Week 12 loss to Philadelphia where Kupp broke free, but pressure prevented the throw.

With his $20 million salary looming for 2025 and Puka Nacua's emergence as the go-to receiver, Kupp's future in LA remains uncertain. Coach Sean McVay called just five pass plays after Kupp's lone catch against Minnesota, highlighting the team's shifting offensive strategy.

Yet Kupp's commitment to team success persists.

"I want to go watch the tape and see that I'm doing things the right way, separating, competing for my teammates, blocking and doing my assignments," he emphasized.

His selfless approach continues to shape the Rams' culture as they pursue another deep playoff run.
