Saquon Barkley is on the cusp of breaking an NFL record. In the blowout win against the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles put up 41 points on the scoreboard vs the Cowboys' 7. Barkley, who has taken the league by notice since he signed with the Eagles, recorded 2,000+ rushing yards this year, becoming only the ninth player in the entire history of the league to achieve this feat.
But he's onto another record. One that would make him the only NFL player to do so. If he manages to rush for 101 yards more in the final game of the regular season, that too against his former team and divisional rivals, the New York Giants, he will surpass Eric Dickerson as the player with the most rushing yards in a single season.
But Nick Sirianni is not sure if he wants to risk his star running back in a game that would not affect their playoff seeding at all. A win or a loss wouldn't change anything, but should Barkley get injured during the final game, it might put their postseason in jeopardy.
"I'll talk to our staff, I'll talk to the players, I'll talk to Howie, I'll take to Mr. Lurie. I'll talk to everybody to try and make sure I'm making the best decision for our football team," Nick Sirianni told 94WIP radio during his weekly interview.

Sirianni will next speak to the media on Wednesday where he is expected to clarify whether Barkley will suit up in Week 18.
Saquon Barkley took a dig at his former team after being crowned NFC East Champion
Barkley spent six seasons with the Giants which were also the team that drafted him. However, during his time with the team, the running back and his teammates were never crowned the NFC East champions. In his very first year at Philadephia, however, he's already made it to the postseason along with being crowned the NFC East champions.
“I’m happy. It’s my first hat and T-shirt game. I didn’t even know that was a thing," Saquon Barkley said after the Eagles clinched the divison.
Will the former Giants RB create history during the game with his former team? Or will Sirianni choose to safer route and choose to rest his player and avoid risking an injury to protect the playoffs? We might learn the answer on Wednesday.
