On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys' preparation for their Sunday Night Football outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers was briefly halted due to owner and general manager Jerry Jones' flamboyant arrival at the team's practice facility.
The 81-year-old arrived in a helicopter that landed right beside the practice field inside The Star, as players, coaches, and media personnel stopped to watch. NFL Network's Jane Slater posted a clip of his loud entrance on X and quipped that Cowboys fans would express their disdain about it in the comments section.
Her prediction was spot on, as fans called him out for disrupting the team's preparation ahead of a massive clash:

Some fans expressed their frustration about Jones displaying his wealth by arriving in a helicopter after claiming that the team couldn't afford to sign a free agent of Derrick Henry's caliber in the offseason:
"'“We didn’t have enough money to sign Derek Henry'” - Wrote @Leonidas_TX_ mockingly
"'We can’t afford Devante Adams!'" - Quipped @atrainxprs
"There is Derrick Henry’s salary" - Said @hornsup87
"This is ironic because the guy in the heli is the one telling fans 'we ain’t got money'" - Remarked @UrATXRealtor_
Davante Adams to Cowboys: Jerry Jones' old comments suggest team won't land WR
The Cowboys offense could use another elite playmaker like Davante Adams, who is keen on leaving the Las Vegas Raiders. The asking price isn't particularly steep but Dallas will likely show no interest in signing the veteran wide receiver considering what Jones said about the team abandoning its pursuit of Derrick Henry.
The Cowboys were reportedly interested in landing the running back, who eventually signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens. When asked why Dallas gave up on signing Henry, Jones told reporters:
"We couldn't afford Derrick Henry ... Why can't you buy a mansion when you live in a different kind of house? We couldn't afford it. We can't make that all fit. That's as simple as that."
While the Cowboys owner felt the veteran's price tag was too steep, the story came full circle when the running back rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens' Week 3 win in Dallas.
