The Panthers took Tet McMillan with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Cowboys fans were among those who were disappointed that he did not fall as far as they had hoped for them to pick him. Dallas needs another weapon for Dak Prescott as they look to get back into the playoffs after a disappointing last season. And seeing the wide receiver go to another NFC team would not have been easy.

One could see how disappointed folks were on social media. X/Twitter blew up with reactions of Cowboys supporters expressing their disappointment with Tet McMillan going to the Panthers. Some even projected their pain onto owner Jerry Jones, saying that he would be feeling it for missing out on a primary target. Here are some of the best reactions.

Some wanted to take Matthew Golden once T-Mac was taken by the Panthers. But the Cowboys went with Tyler Booker, and the vibes turned against Jerry Jones at that point, as it is clear many supporters on the internet wanted another wide receiver. Here are some more posts from the social media platform.

"That’s it. I’m looking for another NFL team. In typical Cowboys fashion they go and draft a player we don’t really need and who was the 51st best available player and we pick him at #12 with Walker, Warren, Johnson, Golden , all sitting right there and would fill a need." - said one.

"I’m about to lose my fucking mind, no way the Dallas Cowboys just skipped over, Tyler Warren, Matthew Golden and Jalon walker. Don’t get me wrong great player we got but wtf" - added another.
"Wow. The Cowboys took Tyler Booker at 12. Wow. Thought they were taking Golden." - wondered a third.

Jerry Jones hints that Tet McMillan was Cowboys' first choice had new Panthers WR still been available

Jerry Jones was asked after the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft if they have a pressing need for a wide receiver opposite CeeDee Lamb after they missed out on Tet McMillan and passed up on Matthew Golden. He said the situation was not bad but admitted that they might not get a player at the level they were targeting in the first round.

"I don't think the word is 'bad'. We certainly have the ability to do that. It may not be at the level at receiver that maybe we might have looked at had the thing fallen a different way but still there are receivers (and) certainly we've got some real possibilities at running back." - said the Cowboys owner.

The Panthers seem to have scrambled the Cowboys' plans and it remains to be seen how Dallas approaches the final two days of the 2025 NFL Draft.
