Jerry Jones has been at the helm of the Cowboys for more than three decades. During that time, the Cowboys have experienced unprecedented success on and off the field. However, as the franchise starts this season in a troubled fashion, fans have been blaming Jones and he agrees with them.

Jerry Jones gets called out by an analyst
Jones, while speaking to the media, stated that he “couldn’t afford” to extend powerhouse running back Derrick Henry as such Henry became a free agent and signed with the Baltimore Ravens. However, NFL analyst Mike Greenberg on ESPN’s ‘Get up’, decided to fact-check Jones.
“I like and admire Jerry Jones very much, but that cannot be said unchecked,” Greenberg said. “We must fact check things like that. You know how you easily could have afforded Derrick Henry? If you had paid CeeDee Lamb when you should have."
"If they had decided to treat the offseason like it began before September 1st, they could easily have afforded Derrick Henry and a lot of other pieces.”
Greenberg claimed that if Jones and the Cowboys' front office had signed their star players earlier in the offseason, they would’ve acquired them far cheaper. The Cowboys are feeling the effects of not having a talent like Henry on the field, after going 1-2 in the season.
