As per Jon Machota, who covers Dallas Cowboys for The Athletic, head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will miss the team’s final two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders due to a shoulder injury. The Cowboys are officially out of the postseason.
Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, McCarthy revealed that the extent of Lamb’s injury was more severe than initially thought after recent scans and examinations.
"The risk is too high to play this week," McCarthy said. "Even if we were in Week 3, this would probably be the same decision. It's important for him to shut it down and start rehabbing."

CeeDee Lamb has been playing in spite of a sprained AC joint for the past few weeks. He will begin immediate treatment for the injury.
The WR suffered a shoulder injury initially during a losing game against the Atlanta Falcons on November 3. He sprained his right AC joint when his shoulder hit the turf during the game two times.
Lamb, who signed a four-year, $136 million extension in late August 2024 has caught 101 receptions for 1,194 yards (third in the league) and six touchdowns this season.
Jerry Jones gave clarity on CeeDee Lamb
On Friday, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that CeeDee Lamb’s shoulder injury will not need surgery. Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, he shared that Lamb’s condition is “very healable without surgery at this level."
However, he added that playing with the injury in the last two games in its current state could lead to more complications and it might lead to more invasive measures.
“If we were in a playoff situation, you’d see him out there,” Jones said.
Now that Lamb is sidelined, his backup QB Cooper Rush will lead the reshuffled offense on Sunday.
