Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons didn't like ESPN's top-10 CB list that they put out today. ESPN has been putting out their top-10 players by each position, and today saw the list of the best cornerbacks.
Cowboys starting cornerback Trevon Diggs was left off of the list. This led to Diggs putting out a comment, which was: "Comical." This prompted his teammate Parsons to take a potshot at those who prepared the list.
"I don’t think players should be the only ones getting drug tested 7!"

Parsons clearly disagrees with ESPN's CB list (which is compiled by NFL executives, scouts and coaches) and thinks his fellow teammate should be in there.
Diggs was a two-time Pro Bowler from 2021-22 and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2021. He had a career season in his second season in the league, in 2021, recording a league-high 11 interceptions, 142 interceptions yards and two defensive touchdowns.
The following season in 2022, Diggs had a solid outing, recording a career-high 59 tackles with three interceptions, 14 pass deflections and one fumble recovery.
The Cowboys cornerback was looking to get back the respect of his peers and the NFL this past season. He signed a five-year, $97 million contract extension with the Cowboys, worth up to $104 million, and was looked at as Dallas' veteran in their secondary.
Unfortunately, Diggs' season ended after just two games as he suffered a torn ACL in practice.
Who made ESPN's top-10 CB list heading into the 2024 season?
It isn't the biggest surprise to see Trevon Diggs left out of ESPN's top-10 CB list. He missed almost all of last season and didn't have as good of a season in 2022 as he did in 2021.
He was named as an honorable mention alongside Marshon Lattimore, Christian Gonzalez, Marlon Humphrey, AJ Terrell and Charvarius Ward.
Here are the top 10 cornerbacks (in order) ranked by ESPN:
- Patrick Surtain II
- Denzel Ward
- Sauce Gardner
- L'Jarius Sneed
- Jalen Ramsey
- Trent McDuffie
- Jaire Alexander
- Jaylon Johnson
- Devon Witherspoon
- Derek Stingley Jr.
Diggs will carry more motivation into the 2024-25 season. He's looking to make a strong return from his torn ACL and being snubbed for the top-10 CB list should put an extra chip on his shoulder.
Do you think Trevon Diggs will bounce back this season?
