Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has seemingly indicated that he had no regrets about giving Dak Prescott a lucrative contract extension earlier this year amid Cooper Rush's performances in recent games.
The Cowboys agreed a four-year extension with Prescott worth $240 million in September, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL. However, Prescott has struggled this season, with a hamstring injury in Week 9 ending his season.
In his absence, Cooper Rush has stepped up to lead the Cowboys. After initial struggles, Rush has thrown for nine touchdowns and just one interception in his last five games, with the Cowboys winning four of those contests.
On his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones was asked if Rush's recent play had given him second thoughts about the Prescott contract extension.

"No. No. Not at all," Jones responded.
Cooper Rush will become a free agent in 2025, and he would have a perfect opportunity to renegotiate his contract.
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy lauded Rush following his recent exploits and called him an "ace in the quarterback room."
“I think you’ve just seen a man take full advantage of his opportunities,” McCarthy said (via AP News). “And what I love about Cooper is, you look at his performance, it’s improved every week because he’s always prepared properly. He’s an ace in the quarterback room, as far as getting ready each and every week even when he wasn’t the starter.”
The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-24 on Sunday. However, the win wasn't enough to keep them in the playoff hunt.
Dak Prescott provides an update on his injury
In a conversation with NBC's Melissa Stark, Prescott revealed that he was off crutches and expressed confidence he would be ready to participate in the offseason workouts in April.
Prescott has been in rehab since Nov. 3 after sustaining a hamstring injury in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Prescott's numbers nosedived this season. He threw just 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions across eight games.
