Dallas Cowboys rookie tackle Tyler Guyton expressed frustration with NFL referees right after the Cowboys beat the New York Giants 21-15 on Thursday. The lineman had a message for cameras as he made his way to the locker room.
"The NFL needs better refs! Please!" Guyton said (via Mike Leslie on X).
Guyton didn't have the best game against the Giants, allowing three pressures and one sack. The Cowboys were penalized 11 times for 89 yards, a big difference compared to the Giants (4-35). Perhaps the penalties rubbed Guyton the wrong way, but fans on social media criticized his play after the game ended.

The Cowboys weren't as dominant as many thought, losing to the Giants in first downs (16 to 14), total plays (65 to 51), total yards (303 to 293), passing yards (277 to 213) and even possession (35:37 to 24:23). They still found a way to win, but the defense didn't show its best version.
It took a hail-mary attempt from Daniel Jones in the game's final seconds to give the Cowboys their first and only interception of the game.
Cowboys fans react to Tyler Guyton's performance against Giants
Dallas Cowboys fans had a lot to say about Tyler Guyton following Thursday night's game. The rookie drew mixed reactions after a complex outing, with some saying he was headed in the wrong direction and others giving him the benefit of the doubt.
"Probably Tyler Guyton's worst game yet," one fan said.
"I’m officially concerned about him. He’s getting exposed," another fan said.
"He’s slow, light handed and penalty ridden, I really disagree. I think he’s gonna get Dak destroyed," another fan said.
Some fans were optimistic about his development.
"The kid is learning the NFL game , it ain't easy. He is working his butt off against some of the games best pass rushers and in the next few weeks will be a huge test," one fan said.
The Cowboys have had a complex start to the season, which is already exasperating fans. They entered this NFL season with renewed hopes after finishing 2023 as one of the best teams in the league. Dan Quinn's exit is proving a costly loss and the offense doesn't seem to be clicking outside of Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.
The next couple of weeks will be crucial to see where they stand, but after four games, this isn't a Super Bowl contender.
