Craig Carton accuses Jets of "a*s kissing" after Robert Saleh's praise of Aaron Rodgers

Craig Carton, a sports radio personality, took a shot at the New York Jets and head coach Robert Saleh. Carton accused the team of "a*s-kissing" after Saleh's praise for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Saleh heaped praise on Rodgers for reportedly being an incredible teammate and a great leader. That is despite Rodgers skipping mandatory minicamp, as he wanted to be away from football, which made Carton take aim at the Jets.

"The level of a*s-kissing and brown-nosing that my beloved organization continues to do in regards to Aaron Rodgers, you think they're talking about Jesus, like it's getting a little crazy. And I know he's asked the question about Rodgers as a teammate and his leadership," Carton said.
"And Coach Saleh is trying to be a good guy and answer the question, which I'm sure he's tired of having to answer. But there also comes a moment where he's not Jesus, he doesn't walk on water. And we got to stop this."

Carton did not hold back on his thoughts on Rodgers and Saleh praising him. The radio personality felt the Jets are putting Rodgers on a pedestal and treating him like Jesus.

Rodgers is entering his second year as the Jets quarterback. In his first season, he played just four snaps before tearing his Achilles in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Aaron Rodgers was not in attendance for the New York Jets minicamp and originally Robert Saleh said it was unexcused.

However, Saleh then spoke to reporters to clear the air and said he and Rodgers were on the same page and he knew why the quarterback wasn't in attendance.

"Aaron and I are on the exact same page," Saleh said, via NFL.com. "There's no issue between Aaron or his teammates, for that matter. We addressed it yesterday. It's more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is inside."

Rodgers is expected to be fully healthy for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season after tearing his Achilles in the season opener last season.

New York will open its 2024 season on the road on Sept. 9 on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.
