NFL fans watching the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday had a lot to say about the promotion that the upcoming second part of the famous "Squid Game" series received during the Netflix broadcast. At some point, people dressed as the Pink Guards from the series were spotted waving the terrible towels at Acrisure Stadium.
It didn't take long for fans to react to that, with many criticizing the company for showing as many promos as possible during a game that millions of fans around the world are watching.
"Netflix cramming in as much promotion as possible," one fan said.

"my only issue is the Pink Guards for character consistency should've just stood there menacingly and done nothing. celebrate at the END of the game. 😂," another said.
"So many Netflix references it’s cringy," another fan wrote.
Others called the streaming service out for pushing so many promos and even mocked the technical issues fans experienced during the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight back in November.
"Netflix is gonna be slammed by the amount of viewers that are gonna tune in for squid games. Hope it doesn’t lag like the Tyson/Jake fight stream," one fan said.
"Sure is lucky for Netflix that a group of Steelers fans just happened to have authentic Squid Game costumes to wear to a game they’re streaming. What are the odds?" another questioned.
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid spotted furiously yelling at NFL referees during Netflix broadcast
Before the noise that the Pink Guards caused on Netflix and social media, fans watched Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid yelling their opinions about the referee's job after wide receiver Xavier Worthy was penalized for his touchdown celebration.
After Patrick Mahomes found him in the end zone with a seven-yard pass, Worthy celebrated with fellow wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, simulating throwing gifts to an imaginary bag that Brown had.
The celebration was penalized for "unsportsmanlike conduct," which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, especially the Chiefs' quarterback-head coach duo. A short video shared on social media showed Mahomes and Reid letting referees know what they thought about that decision.
The Chiefs secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC for the 2024 NFL playoffs. The 29-10 win over the Steelers means the Buffalo Bills are out of the race for the top spot in the conference, and Kansas City will rest in the first week of the postseason.
