"Crying like a bunch of B’s": 3x Super Bowl champ goes off on Chiefs in explosive online beef

The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs rivalry has been a lopsided affair. The reigning Super Bowl champions have won 17 of the last 19 games between the two teams, and one of the Broncos' two victories came against the Chiefs' bench players in Week 18 earlier this month. It may not be a competitive rivalry on the field but off it, Mark Schlereth is fighting hard for Denver.

The three-time Super Bowl champion posted a picture mocking Patrick Mahomes and captioned it:

"I went back and watched the film and realized I was wrong. You cannot hit the quarterback below the knees or in the helmet I apologize, Patrick Mahomes."

The heavily edited photo was a reference to the two innocuous tackles on the quarterback leading to harsh penalties against the Houston Texans in Kansas City's divisional-round win last week.

Schlereth's apparent jibe at Mahomes did not sit well with one Chiefs fan, who reminded the retired guard that he was once fined for cheating.

The three-time Super Bowl champion was reportedly fined $5,000 for applying too much Vaseline on his hands during a 1998 playoff game between the Broncos and Chiefs.

Schlereth responded that reports of the league penalizing him were inaccurate. He then claimed that it only became an issue because the Kansas City players complained about it to the refs. He wrote:

"I actually never was fined it was the Chiefs crying like a bunch of B’s"

When another Chiefs fan posted a screenshot of a news story claiming that he and two other linemen were fined, the former Broncos guard replied:

"1) I put Vaseline on my arms and my armpits every game. 2) none of us got fined. 3) We whipped that a*s!"

Chiefs are not the only team Mark Schlereth despises

Unlike most former players-turned-analysts who hide their bias and feign being objective, Mark Schlereth admits that he dislikes the Chiefs and will root for every team that plays against them.

However, his disdain isn't limited to Kansas City. The retired guard also seemingly dislikes the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders as much as the Chiefs.

Schlereth spent only six seasons with the Broncos. However, the contempt he built up for Denver's division rivals in that time span is seemingly enough to last his lifetime.
