LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has accomplished a lot over his 15 years in the NFL. As the quarterback signs a new, restructured contract, many speculate that he is preparing to ride off into the sunset. At the same time, many believe Dak Prescott might be their new quarterback.
On Tuesday, the Rams and Stafford penned a new one-year deal worth $40 million. The new deal has moved around the 36-year-old's guaranteed pay from 2025 to 2024, essentially making it a one-year contract.
“Rams QB Matthew Stafford’s revised contract: $12.5M signing bonus $23.5M guaranteed 2024 salary $4M guaranteed March roster bonus Effectively, it’s a one-year, $40 million deal. He gave up his other 2025 guarantees. Translation: Play this season and then all sides reassess.”

The Rams fans were quick to spot this and suspect that the man who brought them Super Bowl glory in 2022 could be heading out the door. And Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott could be coming in next year.

“Oh man it seems like Stafford could be retire next season. He is getting a massive pay day while moving on from his 2025 and 2026 guarantees. This is crazy ngl. Idk what other QBS we can have that can possibly mirror Stafford," one fan added. "Dak Prescott is the only QB worth looking in rn.”
The fans started showing their appreciation for their QB1, along with hinting at his retirement next year.

Can Dak Prescott replace Matthew Stafford?
This presupposition by the Rams fans is based on the contractual issues Dak Prescott has with the Cowboys. He is in the final year of his deal and will be a free agent next year.
Prescott has been criticized for his playoff performances, with a record of 2-5. However, apart from the 2021–22 season, in which the Rams won the Super Bowl, Matthew Stafford made the playoffs three times with the Lions but lost all three times on the road.
Only time will tell if Prescott will be a replacement or an upgrade to Stafford.
