On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field in the NFC Championship Game. They expected to be on the road this weekend, but the Commanders' surprise win over the Detroit Lions in the Divisional Round gifted them the opportunity to win the NFC at home.

While the Eagles will be ecstatic about hosting the conference title game, they'll be wary of the threat that Jayden Daniels and Washington pose. They have already lost once to Sunday's opponent in this campaign during the regular season and will bank on their superstars to help them avoid meeting the same fate this weekend.

However, the Eagles might have to win the game without one of their best pass catchers, tight end Dallas Goedert.

Dallas Goedert Injury Update: Will TE play in NFC Championship Game vs. Commanders?

According to the Eagles' injury report, the veteran is dealing with an ankle injury and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, putting his participation in the game against the Commanders in doubt. He attended practice but only caught passes on the sideline.

Goedert missed seven games during the regular season but featured in both of the Eagles' playoff wins. The training staff will monitor him until Sunday morning before deciding whether to rule him out for the NFC Championship Game.

Dallas Goedert Stats: How has the TE fared this season?

The 2024 season has been one of the most difficult campaigns of Goedert's career. He was limited to 10 games in the regular season and finished with 496 receiving yards and two touchdowns, both career-low marks for the tight end.

He had a relatively good outing in the Eagles' 22-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in the Wildcard Round, catching four passes on six targets for 47 yards and a touchdown.

The Los Angeles Rams also had trouble guarding Goedert in their Divisional Round duel in Philadelphia. He caught four passes on four targets for 56 yards in the Eagles' narrow 28-22 win.

The veteran tight end is his team's most reliable weapon outside of wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The Eagles are holding onto hope that he'll recover from his ankle injury and play in the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders.
