Dameon Pierce suffered a hamstring injury in the Houston Texans' Week 1 win against the Indianapolis Colts. Pierce only had three carries for 16 yards in the game.

Pierce missed the Texans' next two games against the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings because of his injury in Week 1.

Pierce had a solid rookie campaign in 2022. The fourth-round pick out of Florida was Houston's leading rusher in 2022, 939 yards on 220 carries, scoring four touchdowns in just 13 games.

While Pierce looked to build off of his successful rookie season, he had some early-season struggles and eventually lost the starting running back job to Devin Singletary. In 2022, Pierce ended the season rushing for 416 yards, scoring two touchdowns on the ground.

Singeltary left the Texans in the free agency and signed with the New York Giants. The Texans acquired Joe Mixon from the Cincinnati Bengals with Pierce serving as his backup.

As the Texans look to get back in the win column, they'll face their division rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. Houston will host their AFC South rival at NRG Stadium, in Houston, Texas, with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. ET.

The Jaguars are still looking for their first win of the season after losing the first three games of the season.
