After much talk, it appears that Dan Snyder's tenure as the Washington Commanders' owner is coming to an end. Congressman Don Beyer is happy to see the back of the 57-year-old.
The last six or so months have seen Snyder's dealings as owner come to light and they aren't pretty. So much so that many other NFL owners wanted him ousted as Commanders owner.
Washington put out a statement saying that Snyder and his wife have hired BofA Securities to consider a potential transaction. Congressman Beyer, for one, is happy to see the owner move on.
He took to Twitter and posted:

"I for one will be very happy if this comes to pass. To be clear, Dan Snyder did not "set the gold standard," and I am proud of my constituents and their colleagues who courageously came forward to speak out about the toxic culture Snyder created. Good riddance."
It is a step in the right direction for many. But if people are hoping for a swift resolution, think again. This will take months to finalize, if not longer. We know that purchasing an NFL franchise is by no means an easy acquisition, plus it's expensive.
But that is just fine with fans who have longed for the 57-year-old to be removed as Commanders owner and it appears that after today’s events, that is a step closer.
Dan Snyder and his Commanders tenure riddled with controversies
By now, most people in NFL circles know what has gone on in the franchise over the last couple of seasons.
Out of the allegations of 15 women regarding sexual harassment, another 25 came forward later in 2020 with the same allegations. Then there were videos of outtakes from Commanders cheerleaders' private areas that the owner wanted as well.
Not to mention that the owner withheld security deposits from season ticket holders from the Commanders. It all adds up to someone who for many is not fit to be an NFL owner.
Despite all of the off-field distractions, on the field, head coach Ron Rivera has done a superb job of getting his team to focus on football.
Washington is currently on a three-game win streak and has a 4-4 record. They are slowly turning the corner. With their owner now thought to be considering selling the team, things are finally starting to look up for the Commanders.
