Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has been the subject of trade rumors, with some linking him to the New York Jets for a reunion with Aaron Rodgers. Former New York Jets quarterback and current NFL analyst Boomer Esiason claimed a deal for Adams was nearly done.

NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky also doubled on that and believes Adams will be a Jet this season.

“I think Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season. The reason why I say that is this. Have you watched Netflix’s Receiver? Have you seen the frustration from Davante Adams? It’s not that much better of a situation.
"The only reason it wouldn’t happen is if he would feel bad about leaving Antonio Pierce, their new head coach. The loyalty of a competitor to a coach," Orlovsky said.

Orlovsky then explained why he feels like a trade will happen, and he believes the Jets need to go all-in this year with Rodgers, likely in one of the final years of his career.

“1] The Raiders don’t matter until they get a quarterback. 2] If you’re the Jets, why would you not? You haven’t won a Super Bowl in 50-something years.
"You’ve already gone in, you have to make this work. If you don’t win the Super Bowl, this is going to be one of the more disappointing acquisitions and runs and wasted talented teams that we’ve seen in the NFL in many years," Orlovsky added. I think this is a done deal. At some point Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season.”

Adams would become the Jets' No. 1 receiver and help boost their receiver core, which includes Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard among others.

But, as of right now, Adams remains a member of the Raiders and is coming off a season where he recorded 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.

What would a Davante Adams trade cost the Jets?

Davante Adams has three years left on his deal as he signed a five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders on March 18, 2022, and has played two years with Las Vegas.

If the Raiders trade Adams to the Jets, a possible return would be New York's 2025 first-round pick and 2025 third-round pick. Or, if the Jets don't want to part with a first-round pick, two second-round picks would be required.

However, it does appear a first-round pick will be needed to be part of the package to acquire Adams as a first and a mid-round pick likely would get the deal done.
