Davante Adams shared his feelings about Mike McCarthy in the wake of the coach's firing from the Dallas Cowboys. After five seasons in Dallas, McCarthy was released on Monday following a 7-10 record amid a season full of injuries that cut Dak Prescott's campaign short and kept Micah Parsons sidelined for several weeks.
On Tuesday's edition of Kay Adams' show "Up & Adams," the New York Jets wide receiver talked about McCarthy's future.
“Mike’s a great coach,” Adams said. “It’s always tough when you have a lot of success. You win a lot of games. They are always ready to put everybody on the chopping block, basically. You have to win a championship, or at least be up for a championship every three years, and if you don’t, they talk about getting rid of you. ...
"I believe in Mike, I think he's a great coach and anybody that's going to end up with him is going to be lucky to have him."

In his five seasons in Dallas, McCarthy only missed the playoffs in the first and final campaign. He won the NFC East division twice and finished second once. His overall regular-season record was 49-35, but the 1-3 record in the postseason was too big to ignore.
Adams and McCarthy worked together from 2014 through 2020.
Mike McCarthy already secured first interview after Cowboys firing
Shortly after the Dallas Cowboys fired him, Mike McCarthy found a potential new job opportunity with an NFC North squad. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday that McCarthy is set to interview with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday.
Ironically, the Bears are the team McCarthy has beaten the most during his NFL career (19 times). Pelissero noted that multiple teams are interested in the veteran, so this will likely be the first of several interviews for McCarthy.
Rumors started coming as soon as he parted ways with the Dallas Cowboys and now Aaron Rodgers' New York Jets could be in the mix to hire McCarthy after firing Robert Saleh in the early stages of the 2024 NFL season.
Rodgers and McCarthy won Super Bowl XLV together against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Woody Johnson could be interested in copying that formula with his team.
