Davante Adams recognizes the possibility of Aaron Rodgers retiring after the 2024 NFL season. The star receiver points to Rodgers' consistent pattern of annual reflection while acknowledging his quarterback's ability to keep playing.

The pair's connection spans nearly a decade, starting with their dominant run in Green Bay from 2014-2021. They reunited with the Jets in 2024 when Adams was traded from Las Vegas in October for a conditional third-round pick.

Speaking on the "Up & Adams" show on Friday, Adams shared his candid thoughts about Rodgers' future in the NFL.

"I think he definitely needs to figure out what's going on in his future," Adams said. "I think it's legit. I think he has a lot going on in his head, a lot of different potential options," Adams said. "Anytime you play 20 years, you can easily hang it up. And I don't think anybody would say you're ridiculous for that."

Adams' comments follow Rodgers' excellent performance in the finale of the 2024 season. The 41-year-old quarterback threw four touchdowns in a 32-20 victory over Miami, including the 500th of his career.

Davante Adams remains optimistic about Aaron Rodgers' playing ability..

"You look at the way that he played once he was healthier at the year, you could definitely make a case he has a few more years in the tank for sure," Adams said.

Aaron Rodgers echoed this sentiment after the Dolphins game.

"I know I can still play," Rodgers said in the postgame presser. "I know I can still do the things I need to do to be successful."

Their partnership yielded results even in limited time together in New York. After the Week 18 win, Rodgers shared a poignant black-and-white photo on Instagram showing them walking arm-in-arm down the MetLife Stadium tunnel.

The Jets face crucial decisions ahead without a permanent head coach or general manager following midseason firings. The team holds the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Adams' future remains fluid despite being under contract through 2026. His restructured deal includes opt-out clauses, and he told reporters he's "potentially" willing to return without Rodgers.

The clock ticks toward March 2025, when free agency begins. By then, both the QB's retirement decision and the Jets' new management direction should become clear.
