Davante Adams made his weekly appearance on the "Up and Adams Show" on Tuesday morning. Host Kay Adams asked the New York Jets wide receiver if he likes Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, which he immediately answered.
Kay then asked what characteristics Ulbrich has that he likes and he said that he is natural and easy to talk to. He added that the way he goes about his coaching duties makes him appreciate and respect him as well.
“He’s a real dude," Davante said. "It’s almost like he’s too real for TV. When he gets at the podium he has to do it like a coach. I mean, this in the most respectful way possible.
"I love talking to him, I love the way he talks to the team. Love the way he holds guys accountable. I love the way he goes about his job, it makes it more like a family-type vibe. That’s how you get guys to play for you. I’d love if he was my coach moving forward. I’ve only been here for a short time but Brick is a real dude and I got a ton of respect for him already.”

Davante Adams and Jeff Ulbrich have something in common, as they are both new to their roles with the New York Jets. Ulbrich was promoted to interim head coach after Robert Saleh was fired on Oct. 8. The Jets traded for Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 15.
Jeff Ulbrich raved about Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams on-field chemistry
While Adams expressed how big of a fan he is of Ulbrich, the interim head coach also raved about the veteran wide receiver and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Ulbrich told reporters on Friday that the chemistry between Rodgers and Adams is clearly from their previous experience of playing together.
“That’s a bond way deeper than the three or four weeks they’ve been together here,” Ulbrich said.
Jeff Ulbrich went on to say that he predicts the connection between Rodgers and Adams will continue to get even better as the weeks go on.
“As we go forward, I imagine the relationship and production between those two is going to go up,” Ulbrich added.
Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were teammates with the Green Bay Packers from 2014 to 2021.
