When the Green Bay Packers parted ways with Davante Adams in the 2022 offseason, it was clear that something had broken between the player and the organization. While Adams was clearly the best wide receiver in the NFL at the time, the Packers didn't want to commit to him.
Two years have passed since Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, and the move didn't work out as expected for the star wideout. He played a season with his former Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr, but saw him leave the franchise in 2023. He then had to endure tough times with Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell.
When asked by Kay Adams of the Up & Adams show if that bridge with the Packers was burned, Adams didn't totally rule out a reunion, but said that it was extremely unlikely to ever happen as well:
"I told him, you go ahead and hold it down. And you know, I'm gonna hold it down over here. I don't think I'll be coming back over there [to Green Bay]. You know, never know what's gonna happen, if they shipped me off then, I mean, there's not much I could do. But you know, I'm a Raider. So nobody has to worry about it."

The Packers traded Davante Adams to the Raiders for a first- and a second-round pick. He later signed a contract that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time.
Could Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams ever reunite again?
It looks extremely unlikely, as the Raiders seem to have no plans of ever trading their wide receiver. While the marriage hasn't yielded the expected results, Adams is still a valuable piece.
But the other side makes it even more difficult. The New York Jets simply don't have the cap space to make a move for the wide receiver or the assets to go after one. Let's not forget that Aaron Rodgers is on the wrong side of 40, and the franchise has to plan for a future without him.
Davante Adams had his moments as the best wide receiver in the league, but this title now belongs to Justin Jefferson. He remains a fantastic player, though, and deserves his elite merits.
