DeeJay Dallas fantasy outlook: Is he a good pick?

Chicago Bears v Seattle Seahawks
DeeJay Dallas before the Chicago Bears v Seattle Seahawks game

Seattle Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas is likely to see more action as Rashaad Penny, who sustained a fractured fibula in the team's Week 5 defeat to the New Orleans Saints, will miss the entire season, according to current coach Pete Carroll.

DeeJay Dallas headed the Seahawks' backfield with 21 receptions last year despite playing just 152 offensive snaps in 17 games while serving as the team's main kick returner.

The team's starting running backs don't have the ability to catch passes. Thus, a pass-catching position could be useful later in the season. But when it comes to pass protection, Travis Homer has a better reputation.

In Sunday's defeat, Dallas only had one rush for four yards and one target, which he grabbed for six yards. Still, he will see considerably more playing time ahead alongside rookie Kenneth Walker III.

Dallas is worth considering a waiver wire acquisition this week, particularly in PPR settings, even though his fantasy potential will decrease once Homer rejoins the team in a few days.

DeeJay Dallas' stats

In Sunday's 39-32 defeat to the Saints, Dallas gained four yards on one carry and six yards on his solitary catch.

Although Kenneth Walker is already in the squad in deep leagues and should probably be your target if he is still available, Dallas will still be useful.

Is DeeJay Dallas worth picking up?

Rashaad Penny left with a leg injury in the first half of the previous match and did not return. After taking 30 offensive snaps, rookie Kenneth Walker led the backfield with eight carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. Dallas, meanwhile, only managed 10 snaps.

Due to Penny's anticipated absence for the remainder of the season, Dallas should have a bigger role as we advance, particularly in distributing circumstances. Travis Homer, who could make a comeback in Week 7, might serve as Walker's backup running back.

Walker will certainly lose some passing snaps to Deejay Dallas, but there's no reason why he won't inevitably take over that position as well. This is another concern for DeeJay Dallas.

The Seahawks selected Dallas in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft after playing college football for Miami.

Dallas, who earned a spot in ESPN's top 300 players for the class of 2017, was regarded as one of the top prospects straight out of high school.

He was classified as an athlete due to his adaptability on the field. However, most analysts believed that he would perform best as a wide receiver or defensive back.

Dallas was rated as a four-star athlete on the majority of recruiting services. He received offers from Georgia, Alabama, and other schools, but ultimately, he decided to play for Mark Richt's Miami Hurricanes.
