Former NFL cornerback Adam Jones poured water on rumors suggesting Deion Sanders would be the next Dallas Cowboys head coach. These rumors have gotten louder by the day, but not everybody is convinced they will come to fruition.
"Pacman" joined the "Pat McAfee Show" on Friday to talk about the likelihood of seeing Sanders coach one of the teams he won a Super Bowl with. Instead, he said Kellen Moore will be the one selected to lead the project while Sanders will try to find an opportunity to coach his kids.
"All right, first and foremost, the next Dallas Cowboys coach is going to be Kellen Moore, everybody knows that with the relationship that's over there, Deion is not leaving Colorado by no means necessary, unless he was able to coach both his sons, which I don't think that's possible, because sources say that Ben Johnson is going to be the Raiders coach.
"Okay, like real good sources, I'm talking about, like, real good sources, as we shall say, I don't think Deion is going nowhere. I think it was good entertainment, but I don't think Deion is going to Jerry World," Jones said.

The Cowboys parted ways with Mike McCarthy after a disappointing 7-10 season. As soon as fans learned about the firing, they started speculating about who's next after McCarthy. Deion Sanders was named a candidate, even though he insisted he had no interest in coaching in the NFL.
Other candidates have been mentioned, including Moore and former All-Pro tight end Jason Witten, but it seems like one of these names is the most fitting for the job.
Analyst explains why Kellen Moore is a better fit for Cowboys over Deion Sanders
Former NFL quarterback turned analyst Chase Daniel talked about Dallas' options at the head coach position, pointing out that considering how much control Jerry Jones has within the franchise, he'd need to add a coach who can handle him.
That said, Daniel named Moore as the right candidate given his relationship with Jones. On Friday's episode of the "Scoop City" podcast, Daniel said:
"And you have to be able to have a relationship that goes back and Kellen Moore really owes Jerry Jones just about everything that he has as a coach because he played from him from 15 to 17." [9:45]
The Cowboys have several options at this moment and making the right decision could start a new period of success for the franchise.
