Wild Card Weekend will kick off on Saturday, but Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders seem intent on making headlines for the next few weeks. The Raiders made the puzzling decision to wait until after Antonio Pierce's press conference to fire him a day after Black Monday, making them the sixth NFL team with a head coach vacancy for the 2025 season.
Several names, including Bill Belichick, have been linked with the Raiders, especially after they fired GM Tom Telesco. Belichick isn't the only big name linked with the franchise, though. Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders' name has also surfaced as a potential candidate. This week, Sanders reignited speculation of a move to the NFL during an appearance on Good Morning America, where he stated:
"The only way I would consider [coaching in the NFL] is to coach my sons."
Veteran NFL analyst Dan Patrick is holding on to those words. On his daily show, Patrick ran away with the speculation, saying:

“I keep saying there’s a chance that Deion Sanders coaches the Raiders. There’s a chance. I’ve been saying that. I have no information there. I thought Antonio Pierce was going to be fired. I thought Tom Brady was going to be the sounding board. We know that Pierce got fired. We know that Tom is involved in this. We know Tom reached out to Bill Belichick.
“Deion says that he would have interest in the NFL if he can coach both of his sons. I know Shedeur can play, I don’t know if Shilo can play at the NFL level. But you’re saying there’s a chance. I still don’t rule that out.”
Where Deion Sanders' sons stand in the 2025 NFL Draft
Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board alongside Miami's Cam Ward. At this point, Sanders is a lock to be a top-five pick.
Things are a little tricky for his brother, Shilo. He finished the season with the ninth-most tackles by a defensive back in Colorado history, but it's difficult to see him getting drafted anywhere in the first three rounds.
Interestingly, back in December, Deion Sanders urged Antonio Pierce to draft both Shedeur and Shilo. There's also Tom Brady's connection with Shedeur; Brady spent some time mentoring the young QB last year and reportedly holds him in high regard.
However, the Raiders currently hold the sixth overall pick, which means they could be out of range to draft Shedeur Sanders when they're on the clock in April.
