When it comes to playing meaningful football in January, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs just crank it up to another level, as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills learned on Sunday evening.
The reigning Super Bowl champions edged out Buffalo 32-29 in what was a nail-biting contest. It took a monumental effort from the Chiefs, who scored their highest points of the season to overcome the challenge in the AFC Championship Game. They will now face the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans in Super Bowl LIX, becoming the first team in NFL history to win back-to-back Super Bowls and then follow it with another trip to the Big Game.
Congratulations were in order for all members of the Chiefs and Deion Sanders, a true legend of the game and one of the greatest cornerbacks to ever play in the NFL, had a special message for two Chiefs stars - Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins.
"I got mad love for my brother Travis Kelce and I'm proud of all that he's accomplished and I'm so darn happy for one of our game's greatest receivers DeAndre Hopkins, Coach Reid and the Chiefs. Wow God is good," Sanders tweeted last night.

How Travis Kelce and the Chiefs came out on top at Arrowhead
While Kelce didn't have as big a night as he did against the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round, the rest of the Chiefs roster more than made up for it.
Rookie receiver Xavier Worthy was one of those standout players, ending the evening with six catches for 85 yards and a score. Patrick Mahomes was also in vintage form, while Kareem Hunt played a key role. Incidentally, this was Mahomes's first game with two rushing touchdowns in his career. He added one more through the air, finishing the night 18-of-26 for 245 yards.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this win was how defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo dialled up blitzes to ensure Josh Allen and the Bills couldn't gain much momentum.
Late in the game, the Chiefs managed to secure a key stop on fourth down by bringing on five rushers. Three of them found the backfield, forcing Josh Allen to rush a throw that eventually fell incomplete to tight end Dalton Kincaid. The Chiefs took over on downs and the rest, as they say, is history.
