Derek Carr is set to leave the Las Vegas Raiders after the season ends, which came as a shock to many. The franchise is looking forward to its future without Carr and could go many different ways next season.
Carr was drafted by the Raiders with the 36th overall pick in the 2014 draft and has been heavily loved since then by fans of the franchise. He recently inked down an emotional letter to thank all the fans who were part of his journey as a raider.
Here's what Derek Carr wrote in his emotional letter to Raiders fans:

"Raider Nation it breaks my heart I didn't get an opportunity to say goodbye in person. We certainly have been on a roller coaster in our 9 years together. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful and appreciative of the years of support you gave to my family and me."
Carr added:
"Thank you to the city of Oakland for taking us in. Thank you to the city of Las Vegas for allowing us to proudly call you home. Thank you to the organization, my teammates, all my coaches, staff, and everyone that helped me these last 9 years in those 2 buildings."
He continued:
"Raider Nation truly is special. once said that if I'm not a Raider I would rather be at home and I meant that, but I never envisioned it ending this way."
"That fire burning inside of me to win a championship still rages. A fire no man can extinguish; only God. So I look forward to a new city and a new team who, no matter the circumstance, will get everything I have. Winning a championship is what I've alwavs wanted and what I will continue to work towards..."
Although Carr wasn't able to achieve monumental things with the Las Vegas Raiders, a large part of it wasn't his fault. The franchise was dysfunctional. and yet Carr acted as a leader and did all he could in his tenure.
The Raiders have been linked with a move for Tom Brady and will try their best efforts to make him their starting quarterback for next season.
Derek Carr could be pursued by multiple teams
Derek Carr could become a priority for multiple teams once the season ends as he is still a good quarterback. He hasn't been supported by his defense much and a move to a team like the New York Jets would be ideal for him.
Apart from the Jets, the Washington Commanders could be another team to keep an eye out for in Carr's sweepstakes. Hopefully, Carr will be able to prove his doubters wrong next season.
