Justin Jefferson asked Anthony Edwards if he would be able to tackle Derrick Henry in full flight when the basketball player visited the Vikings locker room. The Timberwolves player had first responded with shock and surprise but had eventually claimed,
"I ain't gonna pop him but Imma hit ****** for sure"
Now, the Ravens running back was directly asked what he thought of that and his succinct reply was,
"Hell, no"

How do Derrick Henry and Anthony Edwards match up?
While at the moment any duel between Derrick Henry and Anthony Edwards is purely hypothetical, it is interesting to compare the two. The basketball player, as is expected, is taller at 6 feet and 4 inches. The running back, who measures 6 feet and 3 inches, is bigger, though, and weighs 247 lbs., which is 22 lbs. more than the Timberwolves star.
None of that is a surprise given their respective sports but as any physicist will tell you, momentum is the product of speed and mass. And the NFL player was clocked going at more than 20 miles per hour in this week's win against the Buccaneers at the age of 30. His 21.72 miles per hour on his 81-yard run was immediately among the top five speeds recorded this season.
Some of the best players have tried to stop King Henry, but he has been bestowed that moniker because defenders have consistently tried and failed to do so. It is why the Ravens added him this offseason despite having a dual-threat quarterback in Lamar Jackson, as they try to win the Super Bowl this year.
Based on these observations, it is hard to see how Anthony Edwards would fare any better. The best the basketball star can hope for is that the Vikings players, among whom he made this claim, can back him up if the two teams meet. Given that they do not face each other in the 2024 regular season and play in different conferences, their only such meeting can come in the Super Bowl.
The Vikings are 5-1 for the year and their only loss came against a very good Lions side this past week. The Ravens are 5-2 but have won five straight games as Derrick Henry has settled in and Lamar Jackson has found his rhythm. They could indeed meet in the championship game and the Minnesota basketballer better hope that his claims have not infuriated the Baltimore star to the extent that he finds his highest level that night.
