The Baltimore Ravens won the AFC North title in style as they dismantled the Cleveland Browns 35-10 to improve to 12-5 and book their berth as the third seed in the AFC playoffs.
MVP candidate Lamar Jackson finished the night with 217 yards and two passing touchdowns. Meanwhile, running back Derrick Henry had an exceptional outing as he carried the ball 20 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns.
It was Henry's ninth game with over 100 rushing yards and his fourth game with multiple touchdowns. He finished the regular season with an astonishing 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.
Many have used Henry's otherworldly rushing prowess to discredit Lamar Jackson's case to win the MVP award. They argue that having a running back as dominant as the veteran makes the quarterback's job easy; hence, he cannot win the coveted prize.

However, retired quarterback Robert Griffin III downplayed that argument and posted a lengthy explanation about how Jackson's rushing ability helped Henry dominate this season.
He wrote:
"Watch the dang tape and you will see how often linebackers, safeties and defensive lineman are out of their gap and often chasing Lamar on under center runs, shot gun runs AND zone read looks. THIS HAS BEEN THE EASIEST 1,921 YARDS DEREK HENRY HAS EVER RUN FOR IN HIS CAREER... Lamar has the 2nd highest passer rating in NFL HISTORY with 41 Passing TDS and won the AFC North. He should be the NFL MVP."
Henry agreed with everything Griffin said, except how he spelled the running back's first name in his post. He reshared the retired quarterback's explanation and wrote:
"First of all bruh spell my name right lol (Derrick Henry) & WE SCREAMING MV3 OVER THIS WAY!"
Lamar Jackson's MVP-level stats: QB put up a show in the regular season
Derrick Henry is vouching for Lamar Jackson to win the MVP award for the third time in his career. If he does take home the coveted prize, it'd be a well-deserved victory.
The quarterback finished the regular season with 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdown passes, four interceptions, 915 rushing yards, and four rushing touchdowns. He made history as the first quarterback in NFL to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 900 yards in a season.
This was his third season with over 900 rushing yards. Only four other quarterbacks — Bobby Douglas, Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick, and Justin Fields — have rushed for over 900 yards in a season. Bar Vick, nobody managed it more than once.
Jackson's 119.6 passer rating and 77.6 quarterback ranking are #1 in the league. By every metric, the Ravens superstar is a worthy winner of the MVP award. Whether he wins the prize remains to be seen.
