The Baltimore Ravens were on a bye in Week 14, finally giving the team and the coaching staff time to address and work on their issues and allow their players to get healthy and attack the home stretch of the season with a renewed mindset.

Running back Derrick Henry was among the slew of stars that got a well-deserved break, and he used it to make a stunning change to his appearance. The veteran chopped off his iconic dreadlocks, got cornrows and posted a clip of his new hairdo on social media on Monday.

Fans were stunned, and most didn't approve of his new look. Here are some of the reactions to Henry's new hairstyle.

Some said that Henry might have lost his superhuman ability to truck defenders after chopping off his hair like the Biblical character Samson.

"Samson cut his hair and lost his strength," @Tuesday_Antwi posted.
"Hopefully this doesn’t turn out like Samson," @BoysNtheZone wrote.
"Why would you willingly Samson yourself?" @SaltyBuc91 wondered.

Derrick Henry stats: RB has been exceptional for the Ravens

Derrick Henry has arguably been the Ravens' best player behind quarterback Lamar Jackson. The veteran running back has been rejuvenated in Baltimore after a down year by his lofty standards in 2023 with the Tennessee Titans.

He has already rushed for 1,407 yards, the fourth-most prolific campaign of his exceptional career, and there are still four games left in the season. He also has 13 rushing touchdowns, tied for the third-most he has managed in a season.

Henry could finish with career highs in rushing yards and touchdowns. While the latter is well within grasp, as he only needs to find the end zone four more times, surpassing his career-high of 2,027 rushing yards is a challenging prospect.

The 30-year-old will have to average 154 rushing yards per game to achieve the feat. However, Henry is well-rested and slightly lighter after chopping his dreadlocks. He's also known for getting stronger and performing better at the tail end of a season.

Perhaps the Ravens will unshackle their superstar running back and make him the focal point of their offense in the home stretch of the campaign and allow him to become the first player to rush for over 2,000 yards in a season twice.
