DeVonta Smith entered the league in 2021 as the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft. The Eagles traded up to secure him. In his rookie season, he amassed 916 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
In 2022, Smith continued his ascent. He recorded 1,196 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. His highlight performance was a career-high 169 yards against the Washington Commanders and a one-handed catch in the NFC Championship game against the 49ers.
While the Eagles fell short in Super Bowl LVII, Smith's seven-catch, 100-yard effort helped him to make a mark as a clutch performer.
In the 2023 season, with 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns, he remained a key target in the Eagles' offense. Notable games included a 131-yard outing against the Minnesota Vikings and a Wild Card performance where he tallied 148 yards even during a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Earlier this year in April, DeVonta Smith signed a three-year, $75 million contract extension.
