Did The Simpsons predict Brady Brand? Tom Brady’s apparel line may have been part of Matt Groening’s brainchild

Most would agree that Tom Brady is an athlete first and a business and apparel mogul second. Without the first, the quarterback likely wouldn't have the other. However, another source of inspiration may have steered the quarterback toward his modern apparel brand, or at least predicted it in a scary fashion.

According to Cass Anderson on Twitter, the Simpsons television sitcom featured a sweatshirt design that is eerily similar to Brady Brand, the quarterback's clothing line. In the tweet, an image from the 2005 episode of the show shows what appears to be a Simpsons-ified version of No. 12.

The cartoon quarterback is seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with the word "Brady" in white capital letters. The image from the show sits alongside a picture of one of the quarterback's sweatshirts in his clothing line. It features a blue hoodie with "Brady" imprinted in white capital letters.

The sweatshirt is also currently listed on the Brady Brand website and carries a price tag of $95 with an option to pay in four installments of $23.75. There is also a t-shirt with the same color and branding for $45.

Will Tom Brady retire in 2023?

The website claims that "two decades of pro-sports level innovation" went into their products. According to Hola, the clothing brand launched on January 12th, 2022. It is unclear if the Simpsons predicted the future or if the clothing brand drew inspiration from the episode. Based on the appearance, some might even argue that it's an Easter egg hint.

The No. 12 will be embarking on what fans expect to be his final year in the league. Rumors and speculation are running rampant about the quarterback's likelihood of running to another team this offseason, but retirement is only becoming more likely as his age ticks up.

The quarterback stepped away from the game almost a year ago. Was 2022 the trailer, and will 2023 be the movie? Many quarterbacks tend to exit after their worst year in the NFL. While the quarterback is assured of a playoff spot, he spent much of the season below .500 and will finish with the most losses in a single season of his career.

If he loses in Week 18, the quarterback will wrap up the season at under .500 for the first time ever. Unlike last year, he also already has a job lined up with FOX, calling games after he retires, setting up retirement as a hop instead of a giant leap of faith. Will No. 12 come to an end in the 2023 season?
