The Bears lost their Week 8 game against the Cardinals 29-9, mustering only three field goals on offense. They could’ve scored a touchdown in the second quarter if not for an incomplete pass from quarterback Caleb Williams to wide receiver Keenan Allen. Williams looked Allen's way even though receiver DJ Moore was open with room to score in the route combination.

The seven-year veteran spoke to the media about the lingering issues between him and Williams. He went on to compare his rapport with the former Trojan to that of former Bears and current Steelers quarterback Justin Fields.

DJ Moore explains the problem between him and Caleb Williams

Moore played his best game against his former team, the Panthers, on Oct. 6 when the Bears won 36-10. However, the receiver has zero touchdowns in the last three games. Hence, his chemistry with Williams has come into question.

"I couldn't tell you," Moore said to the media on Wednesday after the game. "I mean, just reps? You can say Justin had more reps when I got here than me and Caleb have, just him being a rookie quarterback and Justin wasn't a rookie quarterback last year."

Moore spent five seasons with the Panthers before being traded to the Bears last season. Last season, he finished with over 1,300 yards and eight scores, but this year he has had less than 400 yards with only three touchdowns halfway into the season. The former Panthers WR has played with 13 quarterbacks, including Williams.

The Bears are placed last in the NFC North table with a 4-4 record midway through the season. Right now, they are still in the middle of the conference with a chance to contend for the playoffs but the lack of a solid QB-WR connection is a headache they’d like to resolve soon.

Moore and Williams have a potential solution

Williams is aware of the situation and even has a solution: better communication.

“I think talking a little bit more and communicating a little bit more about specifics of ways I see it and the ways he sees it, ways he's seeing it, and then keep going from there,” he said.

Just like Moore, Williams is also disappointed with the results and finds it frustrating as the duo has failed to connect and hit on certain plays. Moore, on the other hand, appears to want more details regarding the game plays, even one-on-one matchups.
