Tua Tagovailoa has cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to return for the Dolphins today against the Cardinals. Miami has struggled in the absence of their star quarterback and their 2-4 record is appalling for a team that made the playoffs last year.
The passing offense has been particularly poor despite having talents such as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. They are averaging 179.5 yards per game through the air and Tua Tagovailoa's absence has been keenly felt here.
Hence, some Dolphins fans are excited that the quarterback is coming back. On the other hand, he left with a concussion in the second week of the 2024 NFL season and has been out for some time. The reason for his prolonged absence is not just because of the hit he took against the Bills, but a history of head injuries stretching back across his career in the NFL. So, some Miami supporters feel that his return can jeopardize his future and he should not play again this year.
That division was on full display on X/Twitter. Some took one position while others disagreed. Few fans advanced both sides of the argument. Here are some of the reactions.

There were a few supporters who were happy that backup quarterback Tim Boyle had been released to bring Tua Tagovailoa back. Here are some of those responses.
"I guess you can say…they popped that Boyle" - joked one.
"The second part of that sentence actually makes me happier than the first." - wrote another.
"Tim Boyle needs to just coach already" - posted a commenter.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel speaks about Tua Tagovailoa's potential retirement
With many people calling for Tua Tagovailoa to retire due to persistent concussions, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel came out and cleared the air on why the quarterback is back and raring to go. He said about his player,
"He's done an outstanding job of not doing anything but controlling what he can control. So in that, he's put his best foot forward to take care of himself as well as to be the leader of this football team, just in a different way."
Mike McDaniel added that none of the specialists Tua Tagovailoa had spoken to had advised the player to retire. He also paid tribute to the quarterback's love for the game and how he wants to keep playing. The head coach finished by highlighting the player's importance to the team saying it was obvious how the Dolphins had performed with him out. He continued,
"In all of that, he's been fully engaged, but he's also become very aware that he is not interested in becoming a coach anytime soon, that his love is playing football. He's eager as everybody is. If you had any questions about how valuable he is, I think it's pretty obvious."
Miami is 2-4 for the season but is second in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills because the Jets and the Patriots have been poorer. If their returning quarterback can lead them to a victory over the Cardinals today, it has a chance of immediately altering the Dolphins' narrative around the season.
