Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel has provided a crucial update on Tyreek Hill's injury. The star wide receiver is dealing with a thumb injury.
Hill was seen at practice on Tuesday wearing a hand brace and didn't catch passes, and the severity of the injury wasn't known. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, McDaniel gave an update on Hill. He said the WR could have practiced in full, but they are holding him out to make sure he is 100 percent healthy for Week 1.
The good news is that Hill's injury doesn't appear serious, and instead, Miami is holding him out for precautionary reasons.

Hill is the Dolphins' No. 1 receiver and will be a focal point for Miami's offense this upcoming season. Last season, Hill caught 119 receptions for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in his second season with the Dolphins.
Miami is set to open its 2024 season at home on Sept. 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tyreek Hill signs new deal with the Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins and Hill agreed to a restructured contract worth $90 million over the next three years, with $65 million guaranteed.
Hill originally signed a four-year, $120 million deal, but the restructured deal added no more years to the contract. Instead, it added more guaranteed money for the speedy wide receiver.
"The only thing I told Drew was like, 'Do not get me traded,'" Hill said in July, via ESPN. "I want to stay here in Miami because obviously this is where family is now. Everybody loves it here. Family loves it, wife loves it, kids love it. So obviously I love it. I love playing for Coach [Mike McDaniel] and the team.
"My teammates are awesome so I wouldn't want to leave. The fans are awesome, too. I just love how the fans hold us accountable every day on Twitter. So we're getting better, I promise you. We're not just sitting around drinking smoothies. We're getting better."
The Dolphins acquired Hill in the 2022 offseason from the Kansas City Chiefs. Since being with Miami, Hill has been a captain for the Dolphins in his two seasons with the team.
Hill is entering his age-30 season and missed one game last season due to an ankle sprain in Week 14.
