Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets suffered a blowout defeat at the hands of their divisional rivals, the Buffalo Bills, on Sunday. While the Bills managed to light up the scoreboard with 40 points, the Jets only managed to secure 14 for themselves.

The four-time NFL MVP threw two interceptions during the game. During the second pick, A-Rod was flagged for unnecessary roughness. The Jets QB threw a deep ball toward Allen Lazard, but his pass was picked off by CB Christian Benford.

Rodgers then chased down the defender and shoved Benfort on the sidelines. The refs penalized the Jets by awarding the Bills with 15 yards which also helped set up a touchdown drive.

During the postgame presser, Rodgers clarified his side of the incident. Reporters asked him if he had gotten frustrated with how the game was turning out and chose to lash out on the Bills defender. However, Aaron Rodgers gave a different answer.

"I don't think I pushed him very hard," Rodgers said. "I was just chasing down the play."

Rodgers had to pay the price for his conduct individually as well, as his team benched him when the scoreboard read 40-0. Backup QB Tyrod Taylor filled in for the veteran QB and proved to be more effective than him. Under him, the Bills were unable to score any more points, while the Jets put up 14 points.

Aaron Rodgers sets NFL record, but not the one he had hoped for

Rodgers walked into the game with 499 touchdowns to his name. Everyone assumed that he would hit the 500 milestone during the Bills game. However, the veteran QB failed to throw even a single touchdown, which last happened when the Jets took on the Arizona Cardinals more than a month ago.

However, he did set an NFL record. Aaron Rodgers is now the most sacked QB in the history of the league at 568. Before the game, he was behind Tom Brady who held the record at 565.

It will be interesting to see whether the team will start him in the team's final game of the season against the Miami Dolphins next Sunday. It is also unclear as to whether he has a future with the Jets in 2025.
