Donald Trump took to Truth Social to praise Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs after their AFC championship victory.

The Chiefs earned their spot in Super Bowl LIX through a nail-biting 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes added another achievement to his legacy, securing his 17th playoff win to surpass Joe Montana for second place all-time.

Trump shared his congratulatory message on Truth Social on Sunday, moments after Kansas City clinched its third straight Super Bowl appearance:

"Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers. Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season. They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!" Trump posted.

The Bills fought back throughout the night. James Cook's determined touchdown stretch gave Buffalo a 22-21 lead in the third quarter. The teams traded scores until Harrison Butker's field goal put Kansas City ahead 32-29 with 3:33 remaining.

In the final minutes, Kansas City's defense stepped up. Their blitz forced Josh Allen into an incomplete pass to Dalton Kincaid on fourth down, sealing the victory.

Patrick Mahomes reflected on the team effort in his postgame interview with CBS's Tracy Wolfson:

"I mean, first off, I want to give all glory to God. Without Him, none of this is possible, and I truly mean that," he said. "I'm just so proud of my teammates and how they responded."

The quarterback emphasized the collective achievement:

"It's not about one guy, it's not about a couple of guys, it's about the whole entire team. When we needed the defense to get stops, they got stops. Offense, we made plays."

The Chiefs now head to New Orleans for a Super Bowl LIX matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9. A victory would make them the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
