Last year, during Tom Brady's roast, "The Greatest Roast of All-Time," New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and former coach Bil Belichick had an awkward, tense moment backstage.
Belichick stepped down as the Patriots' coach following the 2023-24 season, and when he and Kraft came across one another, things got awkward.
Speaking with former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman on his "Games With Names" podcast, former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe opened up on the awkward moment.
"The funny thing is, or interesting thing is, I think I was kind of gone when it first sort of happened. But then (Robert Kraft) walks in. And so my brother was feeling sorry for him because he's over there, and Belichick is kind of in the middle of the story, Kraft walks in," Bledsoe said. "And so you guys all go over to say hi to Kraft, and the last man standing is my bro. And he's like, well, Bill's telling the story. If I leave, then he's telling the story to nobody, because everybody's over saying hi to Kraft."

"But they did break it down. Got together for, I don't know, probably, 10 minutes at least. The tension in that room was real good cut. It was very real," Bledsoe added.
Drew Bledsoe had a hilarious appearance and speech during "The Roast of Tom Brady"
Drew Bledsoe is infamously known for being the quarterback that allowed Tom Brady to have the best career in the NFL. After Bledsoe suffered an injury against the New York Jets in 2001, Brady stepped in and replaced him, and the rest was history.
Last year, Netflix had a "The Roast of Tom Brady" special, which included Bledsoe. He spoke about how Brady took his job and why it's easy to hate the NFL legend.
“So, real talk. A lot of people just assume that I have a lot of animosity towards Tom Brady. Well, I’m here to tell you tonight, in front of millions of people, that you’re correct, I f****n hate him," Bledsoe said. "But let’s just be honest. A lot of you guys kind of hate him too. I mean, who’s more hateable than the most successful quarterback of all time? … I mean, except maybe Belichick.”
“So, look, Tom, I’m really glad you enjoyed all this amazing success with the team that I built. Super f****n happy for you, bud,” he added.
Bledsoe played in the NFL for 14 seasons and was with the New England Patriots from 1993 until 2001. He would go on to play for the Buffalo Bills (2002-2004) and the Dallas Cowboys (2005-2006).
